AIIP would like to invite STC members to submit speaker proposals for their 2015 conference in Irvine, CA next April. The conference encourages communication and idea sharing on top trends in the wider information industry, networking and mentoring, entrepreneurial best practices, business tips and so much more. It’s a leading source of professional development for info consultants, “liberated” researchers, info-entrepreneurs – all those who are pursuing an independent business practice.
The due date for proposals is Friday, October 17, 2014.
2015’s Theme—Destination Irvine: Learn. Plan. Grow.
AIIP encourages the submission of program sessions related to themes of Plan and Grow, which might include such topics as: latest business trends, communication skills, project management or planning, tools or technologies for planning and growth, research approaches, case studies, how-to’s for business or individual growth, growing via value-added skills or services, as well as other practical solutions. This call is primarily for presentations of approximately 45-60 minutes.
The full conference schedule will run from April 16-19 as follows:
- Thursday, April 16— (“Learn”) —Preconference workshops, vendor training, first-timers welcome orientation, introductions at opening reception in exhibits hall.
- Friday, April 18— (“Plan”) —Conference program, first keynote
- Saturday, April 18— (“Grow”) —Conference program, second keynote, awards banquet
- Sunday, April 19—Committee meetings
To submit a proposal, please include the following:
- Title (or working title)
- Brief description of your proposed session (<150 words)
- Include 2-3 key ideas or lessons for attendees to take away
- Please also include in proposal:
- Why your session would appeal to our members/attendees
- If you have any co-presenters
- Brief bio for you and any co-presenters
