For Who’s a Jolly Good (Associate) Fellow?

Each fall, the Associate Fellows Nominating Committee invites STC communities and members to recommend five-year-plus Senior Members for the rank of STC Associate Fellow. This honor recognizes members’ achievements in the field of technical communication, contributions to STC, or both. The deadline this year for nominations is 4 October 2010.

Do you know a fellow STC member that you would like to nominate? Any voting member of STC may submit a candidate’s recommendation. The committee reviews each candidate’s recommendation carefully, contacts the identified references, and—based on review of the information collected—nominates selected candidates to the STC Board of Directors for their vote. To nominate a member:

  1. Read the information about recommending Associate Fellows on the STC website.
  2. Confirm with Lloyd Tucker, STC Deputy Executive Director, that the candidate you’d like to recommend has been a Senior Member for at least five years.  (On request, Lloyd will send you a list of everyone in your community who has been a Senior Member for at least five years.)
  3. Use the Associate Fellows Recommendation form and refer to the completed sample forms on the STC website.
  4. E-mail the completed recommendation form to Nancy Hoffman by midnight EDT (GMT-4), 4 October 2010.

See the Associate Fellow page on the STC website for full information. If you’re already an Associate Fellow, consider applying for Fellow status. See the STC website for more information on that honor as well.
