STC Election Website Update: Audio Podcasts Available

As we announced last month, the website for the 2013 STC Election is live on the main STC site. Do you know the candidates running for Vice President, Treasurer, Director, and the Nominating Committee? There is a photo, biography, candidate statement, links, and more on each candidate’s page. The election opens Monday, 11 March, and will run through Friday, 22 March.

We invited all candidates to participate in an audio podcast interview with a few brief introductory questions and a short discussion about their thoughts on the position, technical communication, and STC. The links are available on each candidate’s page; if they participated, you’ll see a box labeled “Podcast” on the right side (under the photo), with a link to listen. So far there are podcasts available for Kit Brown-Hoekstra and Paul Mueller (both running for Vice President), Jane Wilson (running for Treasurer), and Ben Woelk (running for Director). Interviews with other candidates will be posted as conducted.

We also are inviting STC members to ask questions of the candidates, with an online Candidate Forum added this year. You can post your questions directly to the forum and the candidates for that position will be invited to answer you. Read the questions posed so far and the candidates’ answers as well.

Remember, you must renew your STC membership by 28 February to be eligible to vote in the 2013 election. This election is an important one, so make sure your voice is heard. Renew and vote!
