Paper Competition Announced for U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day 2013

The 2013 World Standards Day Paper Competition has been announced by the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day Planning Committee and the paper competition’s sponsor, SES – The Society for Standards Professionals. The theme for this year’s paper competition is “Standards for a World at Work and Play.” Papers are due by 3 August.

“Standards for a World at Work and Play” reflects the many ways that standards function as tool to bolster consistency, repeatability, dependability, and excellence in a wide variety of technologies and fields, impacting reliability from farm to table, manufacturer to retailer, and workplace to home.

All submissions must be previously unpublished, between 2,500 and 4,500 words long, The first place winner will receive a plaque and $2,500. Second and third place winners will receive $1,000 and $500.
