The newest addition to STC’s Job Seeker Boot Camp is Janice King’s timely article, “Career Opportunities in High-Tech Marketing Writing.” King shows how your current technical writing skills can be redirected to producing marketing text.
The Boot Camp is a free membership benefit for STC members and available to former members for $65, permitting unlimited access to the site until 31 December.
To help prepare members for the future of tech comm, STC offers Barbara Giammona presenting The Future of Technical Communication: Remix on Wednesday, 30 September 2009 from 1:00–2:30 PM EDT (GMT-4). Limited registration is available at $79 for members and $149 for nonmembers. Giammona will recap her studies of trends, provide advice for your next professional steps, and interact with participants regarding their individual questions and concerns about what’s happening now.
The seminar results from her award-winning 2004 Technical Communication article, “The Future of Technical Communication: How Innovation, Information Management, and Other Forces Are Shaping the Future of the Profession” and the well-received May 2009 Intercom follow-up article, “The Future of Technical Communication: Remix.”
