Instruction Design & Learning SIG Scholarship

Guest post from the Instructional Design & Learning SIG. See the URL below for any questions.

The Instructional Design & Learning Special Interest Group (IDL SIG) of STC is again offering two scholarships—one $750 scholarship for an undergraduate student and one $1,000 scholarship for a graduate student.

Purpose

The IDL SIG scholarships were created to assist students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate in the area of Instructional Design, Instructional/Educational Technology, or a similar field. Students applying for these scholarships are expected to demonstrate their interest or focus on topics related to Instructional Design, Educational/Instructional Technology, or related field through their academic studies, current jobs, graduate or certification program, or special projects.

Award

The awards, wholly funded by the IDL SIG, can be used for college-related expenses or, if desired, can be put toward the registration fee to attend the 2011 STC Summit (our annual conference) in Sacramento, CA, to be held 15-18 May 2011. All winners and honorable mentions will be featured in the IDL SIG quarterly newsletter. Winners will be notified in late January 2011.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be:

  • An undergraduate student who has completed at least two courses related to Instructional Design, Instructional/Educational Technology, or a similar program.
  • A graduate student who has been accepted into a graduate program related to Instructional Design before 1 January 2011.

Deadline for Application

Applications must be received by Thursday, 20 January 2011 at 11:59 PM EST (GMT-5).
