Presenting the 2023 class of STC Fellows
The new STC Fellows will be officially honored at the 2023 STC Technical Communication Summit & Expo Honors Event & Lunch on Tuesday, 16 May 2023, in Atlanta, GA.
2023 class of STC Fellow:
The Society for Technical Communication is proud to announce the 2023 class of Fellows. Fellow is one of the three honorary ranks in the Society. Fellows is an honor bestowed by the Society upon Associate Fellows who have continued to make exemplary contributions to the arts and science of technical communication, and for sustained and significant service to STC. These contributions involve significant achievements that advance the profession and its recognition.
Each year, the STC Fellows Committee considers the qualifications, contributions, and achievements of Associate Fellows who submit their credentials to the committee for review, and then submits recommendations for Fellow to the STC Board of Directors. Upon a two-thirds majority vote of the board, the rank of Fellow is conferred upon a recommended Associate Fellow. The Society takes enormous pride in recognizing these Fellows at the STC Summit following the vote of the board.
Congratulations to our newest Fellows:
Elizabeth Fraley
Citation: For facilitating growth of communities that share information, resources, and knowledge; and for your dedication to bringing together a diverse community of technical communicators with different viewpoints and backgrounds to share their ideas and perspectives.
Elizabeth Herman
Citation: For sustained excellence in the education and practice of technical communication, for bringing that excellence to service in the Society, and for continuously advocating how technical communication skills can translate to other roles.
Dr. Tharon Howard
Citation: For your passion and focus on the interrelationships between technical communication, user experience, usability, content strategy, and delivery; for decades of teaching technical communication, and helping hundreds of students at all levels launch their careers.
Alyssa Fox
Citation: For your breadth of service to the field of technical communication, devotion to the Society, and insights about bringing marketing communication into focus for the field. You are a leader in every sense of the word.
Tricia Spayer
Citation: For continuing service to STC through chapter and Society leadership roles, and for advocating technical communication principles in all aspects of your career and volunteer roles.
Kim Rosenlof
Citation: For continuously striving to find better ways to design and deliver information using simplified English, minimalist writing, and single-sourcing principles; and for service to STC through leadership roles and speaking engagements.
