The 2013 Summit takes place 5–8 May 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. This year, all events take place in one location—at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in downtown Atlanta, within walking distance of many area attractions.

STC has negotiated a special conference room rate of $169 for a single or double and $179 for a triple or quad; you must register through the STC Summit website, http://summit.stc.org, to get that rate.

According to the hotel’s website, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta boasts "true southern hospitality" in welcoming its guests. A recent $65-million upgrade included adding "new chic, studio-style rooms." Nearby attractions include Peachtree Center Mall, Georgia Aquarium, Georgia World Congress Center, AmericasMart, CNN Center, Phillips Arena, and the Georgia Dome.

Dining and entertainment options at the hotel include the 24-hour self-serve Market; Sway, a unique restaurant featuring three chef-driven menus; and Twenty-Two Stories, a celebration of Atlanta’s past, present, and future.

Why stay at the official conference hotel?

Staying at the official conference hotel benefits both you and STC. Here are a few reasons to stay in the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for the Summit.

  • Convenience. All education sessions are held in the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, meaning that you just have to come down the elevator and walk to the right meeting room. No cabs, cars, buses, umbrellas, heat, wind, etc.
  • Networking. There are so many informal networking opportunities beyond the official conference hours. Impromptu dinner parties start in the hotel lobby, hotel restaurants are full of Summit attendees, and the hotel bar is packed well into the night with all sorts of conversations, debate, and networking. You’ll bump into technical communicators from around the world in all parts of the hotel.
  • Help keep Summit prices down. Meeting our contracted room block enables STC to continue to negotiate affordable room rates for future meetings. Based on the number of rooms blocked, hotels will provide complimentary meeting space, which enables STC to offer discounted registration fees for a longer period of time.
  • Assistance from STC. And finally, by staying at the official conference hotel, you’ll have STC’s assistance if there is a problem with your hotel reservation.

See you at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta!
