STC Position Statement: Response to Racism and Inequity

As communicators, STC supports those who use their voices to communicate the negative impact of racism and inequity in the USA and around the world. We stand with our members and our professional community against racism, violence, and hate.

During this impassioned time, our members can use their listening and writing skills to learn more about the challenges our world faces and to share that knowledge with others.

As a Society, we can also learn and do more to address issues of racism and other biases in our profession. In the coming months, our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel will listen, learn, and teach so that all members will feel safe and included in STC events, publications, and communities.

The STC Board of Directors is establishing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel (DEIAP), to provide advice, insight, and recommendations on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to both the STC Board and the STC staff. If you’re interested in participating, email wendyapmp@gmail.com.
