STC is proud to announce the creation of two awards to be first presented at the 2014 Technical Communication Summit, 18–21 May, in Phoenix, AZ.
At its September meeting, the STC Board of Directors approved two new honors for contributors to Intercom magazine: one for the best article of the year and one for the best guest-edited issue of the year. These awards join the Frank R. Smith Award (honoring articles in the Technical Communication journal) to highlight the many outstanding contributions to STC publications.
“I’m thrilled that the Board approved these awards,” exclaimed Intercom Editor Liz Pohland. “The quality of articles I receive from our members is already outstanding, and these awards will contribute to further elevating that quality. I’m also extremely happy that we’ll be able to publicly highlight the author and editor of the best article and best guest-edited issue each year! I look forward to presenting the first awards in Phoenix.”
Intercom accepts submissions from both members and nonmembers and invites all to contribute to an upcoming issue. See the 2014 editorial calendar below, and visit http://intercom.stc.org/write-for-intercom for more information on our submission process and requirements. Even if your article idea doesn’t fit one of the themes, please still send it in—not all articles in an issue are on the monthly theme.
