STC is proud to announce that five STC communities and the STC staff recently were named winners in APEX 2015, the 27th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence. APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communication excellence. APEX Grand Awards honor the outstanding works in each main category, while APEX Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the individual categories. Out of over a thousand entries, just 82 won APEX Grand Awards.

- Chicago Chapter (Linda Kelley): APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Newsletters – Electronic and Email
- New York Metro Chapter (Julie Waxgiser, Nitza Hauser, Wee Shufti): APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Social Media – Best Series of Blog Posts
- Washington DC-Baltimore Chapter (Cynthia A. Lockley): APEX Award of Excellence in the category of One to Two Person-Produced Websites
- Technical Editing SIG (Rick Sapir): APEX Award of Excellence in the category of One to Two Person-Produced Websites
- Intercom (Liz Pohland): APEX Award of Excellence in the category of Magazine, Journal, & Tabloids Writing.
Also, the 2013–2014 STC Salary Database, written by Rick O’Sullivan, won an APEX Grand Award in the category of One-of-a-Kind Publications. The APEX Grand judges said of the Salary Database:
