New Technical Communication Editor Announced

STC has named Dr. Sam Dragga of Texas Tech University as the new editor of its journal Technical Communication. Dr. Dragga will begin reviewing manuscripts on 15 June 2015 and will be editor of record for a three-year term beginning in January 2016. Technical Communication publishes articles about the practical application of technical communication theory and serves as a common arena for discussion by practitioners and scholars.

Kit’s Commentary: STC President Mid-Term Report

The President’s Midterm Report was published in the February 2015 issue of Intercom, but we’re republishing it here as well as a guest post by STC President Kit Brown-Hoekstra.

The theme for this year has been one of change as STC aligns its strategic plan and offerings to a revised mission statement so that we can continue to meet the needs of our members and ensure a solid foundation for the next century.

April Fools! – STC Cuts Ribbon on New State-of-the-Art Operations Center

Monday, STC staff transferred distributed coordination of program management to the new STC Operations Center. The suite of modern, integrated technology ties together the association management software, online traffic data, and education learning system with real-time financial transaction data and visual data representations—all on multiple desktop and wall-mounted screens. It is the culmination of two years of planning and development.
