Website for 2011 Summit Released

The website for the 2011 Technial Communication Summit, taking place from 15-18 May in Sacramento, California, has been published. Bookmark http://summit.stc.org for everything you need to know about STC's annual conference.

The four tabs in the top section currently include the basic details about the Summit, a quick look at what's new this year, information on SUMMIT@aClick, and a discussion of the tracks. These tabs will change as new information is available and different messages need to be highlighted. Immediately below that on the home page are the conference overview and a listing of the fee schedule.

Across the top are dropdown menus for Program Info (schedules, overviews, etc.), Hotel-Travel (information on the “Tech Comm Summit Triangle,” the two conference hotels and the convention center; travel tips; and tourist activities), Exhibit-Sponsor (for potential exhibitors and sponsors; later a list of exhibitors for attendees to peruse), Networking (including events and social media), and Accessibility.

There's also an official Summit blog, linked in the upper left of the header. All conference-related blog posts will be posted there instead of on STC's Notebook, so please add that feed if you're interested in Summit announcements. Once that blog is a bit more active, we'll add the feed to the right margin of STC's Notebook so people can click directly to posts of interest from here.

While there's a ton of information already on the website there's still so much more to come, including the schedule of education sessions, conference and hotel registration, information on the keynote speaker and honorary fellow, and other important articles. We'll be constantly updating the site, so please check back regularly. We'll use the blog to announce major updates and highlight important information as well.

Enjoy the website, and we hope to see you in Sacramento!

  1. Are registrations refundable or transferrable? I’d love to get one of those early, early bird rates, but I don’t know yet whether I’ll be attending as a speaker. Will the speakers be announced before registration opens?
