STC Summit Track Spotlight: Content Design and Delivery

STC Summit Track Spotlight: Content Design and Delivery

By Aiessa Moyna, Track Manager

Content creation is a core capability for many technical communicators, and this year’s Summit has plenty of offerings that will help attendees learn new skills, brush up existing skills, and apply existing skills in new ways. Whether you’re a recent grad or experienced professional, an educator, or a student, you’ll find lots of sessions addressing the development, design, refinement, and delivery of content in various media. Here are some of the sessions to look forward to:

  • If video is top-of-mind, you’ll want to check out “Ace Your Video Documentation: A DITA-Centered Approach to Optimize Video Production” presented by Sree Pattabiraman, and “Convergence in B2C Video: Integrating Tech Comm and Marcomm for Strategic Purposes” presented by Brandon Strubberg and Chase Mitchell.
  • Are you interested in adding audio content production to your repertoire? Ed Marsh, host of the popular Content Content program will present “Podcasting for Fun and/or Profit.”
  • If you’re looking for a little creative inspiration, plan to attend “Tell Your Story the Disney Way: Applying Disney Imagineering to Technical Communication” with Lou Prosperi.
  • Need tips on gathering data? Then look for “Survey Says: Don't Start a Feud–Write Stronger Surveys” with Jennifer Goode, and “User Research on a Lean to Zero Budget – Strategies and Tips” with Laurel Beason and Zohra Mutabanna.

This is just a sampling of the sessions you can choose from. Details on these and many more sessions are posted with the Full Schedule on the Summit website; just select Content Design and Delivery from the track list on the left. And while you’re there, be sure to also check out the sessions in Tools and Technologies, as well as Management, Leadership, and Career Development.

I look forward to seeing you at the virtual Summit in early June!
