Indexing and Technical Writing: Conference Announcement

ASI Seattle 2015Content publishers, libraries, software developers, technical writers, abstractors, editors, database producers, data searchers, product developers, academic professionals, researchers, and readers all use indexes on a daily basis, even if they're not always aware of it. Indexing and its basic principles underlie search systems, web-based finding aids, database organization, ebook information retrieval, and back-of-the-book indexes. The American Society for Indexing (ASI) advocates, educates, and provides the central resource for indexing in the United States, in affiliation with numerous international indexing organizations.

ASI's annual conference will be held this year in Seattle, April 29 – May 1, 2015. This year we will be discussing embedded indexing,  new software developments, thesaurus creation, taxonomies, the logic and language of patterns, communicating the value of indexing, and a host of other fascinating topics in the field of information retrieval. All STC members are invited to join us! ASI and STC have a reciprocal agreement, so STC members may attend the conference at member rates; use coupon code INDEXERCAFE15.
