Seeking Volunteers for the STC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel

The STC Board of Directors is establishing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Panel (DEIAP), to provide advice, insight, and recommendations on matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to both the STC Board and the STC staff. The panel will advise the board and STC staff on a range of DEI areas that the society can consider and take action to include members and potential members of different ages, nation of origin or nation of residence, religion, development support needs, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, marital status, education, language, physical appearance, and ethnic identity.

In addition to advising the STC Board, the DEIAP will have specific projects each year to review activities, publications, or initiatives of STC to suggest insight and improvements from a diversity, equity, and inclusion perspective. The STC Board and DEIAP Chair seek three to five volunteers to commit to serve a one-year term which aligns with the calendar year. Panel members may also be invited to serve for a subsequent year.

Are you a fit for the DEIAP? Yes, if you:

  • Are an STC Member
  • Have experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion activities
  • Can demonstrate a passion for the subject of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Note: The DEIAP serves at the pleasure of the STC Board and all decisions regarding the recommendations of this committee are subject to approval of the STC Board. All content created in support of the committee's work belongs to STC. Volunteers are expected to adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct and to the STC Code of Ethics.
