Fond Farewell to Elaine Gilliam

STC’s Director of Meetings and Convention Operations, M. Elaine Gilliam, will be leaving STC and entering the wonderful world of retirement on 30 June 2022. Elaine joined STC in 2006 and, as the longest-tenured employee of STC, has contributed to the successes of many Society programs in multiple areas, including the annual conference, education, communities, recognitions, and certification.

“Elaine has generously given an enormous amount of her time, skill, and wisdom to STC,” commented CEO Liz Pohland. “She is an expert meeting planner, a seasoned advisor, and an institutional knowledge asset who has been indispensable and made valuable contributions to STC’s continued vivacity. While most members may know her as the person responsible for every detail associated with the STC Summit each year, many may not realize the huge impact Elaine has behind the scenes! In addition to everything Elaine does as a meeting planner, Elaine has also worked with the Education Committee to administer STC’s education and elearning program into a strong professional development resource for members. During her tenure, she has also assisted the Community Affairs Committee, worked with numerous recognition committees, as well as assisting with STC’s CPTC certification program. Elaine has worn many hats during her 16 years! I know I speak for many of us when I say that Elaine has been a true pleasure to work with.”

We hope all members and colleagues will join STC in a fond farewell and heartfelt congratulates to Elaine on her retirement! She’s accomplished so much over her career, and we're going to miss her guidance, support, humor, and positive attitude.

Enjoy this new chapter of your life, and we wish you all the best—and some well-deserved time off!
