My name is Liz Herman and I would welcome your vote for Nominating Committee.
You may remember that I like to talk about the different hats we wear as technical communicators.
In service to STC, an organization that has enabled me to network, teach, write, lead, and serve for two years on its Board, I would be thrilled to give back by proudly wearing the hat of Nominating Committee member for the 2021/2022 STC Election Slate.
My goals are to:
- reach as many interested members to discuss their candidacy.
- cast the net far and wide to ensure a diverse slate for consideration.
- secure multiple nominations for every category minus the presidency.
- use every available channel to find and talk to candidates unrestricted by time zone or communication preference. I will even, at last, learn to use Slack if that’s someone’s channel of choice!
- collaborate fully with other Nominating Committee members and work hard to represent the breadth and depth of our community.
I am fortunate to know many STC members, which I think will serve me well on the Nominating Committee. It is the members I've yet to meet, however, that really gets me excited about this position. If we haven't met, I look forward to meeting you. Perhaps you'll consider running for election in 2021 or 2022?
I believe in the future of our profession and the future of STC, which is why I want to help find the next group of vibrant leaders. Thank you for your consideration.
