Dues Schedule Policy

STC membership is based on a calendar year. All memberships expire on 31 December. Individuals joining STC for the first time (or former members whose membership has lapsed more than one year) pay STC dues, a $15.00 enrollment fee, and chapter and SIG fees (if applicable). Because the full range of STC products and services is available to members immediately upon joining or renewing, STC dues are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

For organizations that employ 5 or more technical writers, you may be eligible for additional discounts by enrolling in our Corporate Value Program (CVP)! Click here for more information.

STC membership rates (with exception of Gold) are adjusted after 1 July, to accommodate for the smaller amount of time your calendar year membership will be active. The graph below shows the amount your dues will be*, depending on the date your membership is purchased and the rates/dates are subject to change. You will only need to purchase your dues once per the calendar year.

Any chapter or SIG dues are in addition to your membership payment (unless included with your membership, see the member benefits page for more a full list of benefits), and will expire on the same date as your membership.

*STC membership promotions or campaigns may advertise a promotion with a different rate than the amount listed on the graph. Contact membership@stc.org with any questions. Your participation is not necessary to win.
