Both the Carolina Chapter (@stc_carolina) and the Technical Editing SIG (@stc_te_sig) have included Twitter in their overall communication plans. Some things we tweet:
- Jobs
- Announcements & community news
- Calendar events

And the *great* thing is that all of these items are tweeted *automagically* -- no user involvement.

We also "live tweet" during meetings and events.

The TE SIG created a "formal" Twitter policy:

Hi Karen,
We're publicizing a good number of chapter activities and initiatives with @stc_rochester, but Twitter overall has not gained much traction within the Rochester Chapter. However, including the #ROC hashtag caused our September kickoff meeting to be repeated on the Rochester City Twitter. A reporter from the local newspaper saw the meeting info, attended, and wrote a profile on the chapter.

Anyone else using Twitter as part of their community communications plans?
