Ray Davis

Ray Davis graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Arts in Technical Communication. He has more than two decades of experience as a technical writer, software engineer, and technical publications manager. In his current position with Medtronic, Ray manages a department of writers who use topic-based authoring to create service and repair instructions for navigated surgical systems, portable x-ray systems, and other life-saving medical systems. He has presented at other conferences on the subjects of topic-based authoring, using extensible stylesheet language (XSL) to customize topics outside of the authoring tool, and the value of topic-based authoring in highly regulated industries.
