Considered by many to be the “Father of Technical Communication in India,” Makarand (Mak) Pandit is certainly a pioneer of technical writing in India. His ability to mentor and teach hundreds of professionals has made Mak one of the most respected professionals in India’s technical writing community.

Mak entered the field of technical communication in 1994 as a freelancer and since then has trained more than 2,100 candidates in technical writing. He has worked on more than 450 projects in eight countries, including India, the United States, Singapore, Australia, and UAE. In addition to English, he has completed several projects in Indian Regional Languages. As a corporate trainer, Mak has conducted corporate training courses in India, the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and UAE.

Mak has worked with various educational institutes and universities, including University of Pune, University of Jammu, Indira Gandhi National Open University, and Symbiosis University. He has contributed as a visiting faculty and course designer. He organized India’s first conference of technical writers under the name of TWIN in 1998 and the following year founded the STC India Chapter.
